I had to listen to this commercial ten times before I realized that it was actually an extraordinary nut "snack".
For most of my life, I have never really liked running. It was kind of a necessary evil that I would have to do if I wanted to play basketball or soccer. Even when I was on the track team, I didn't like to run. As odd as it sounds, it worked out because I was in it only for the high jump and long jump.

Even as I started to work out more recently, I hated going to the gym and running on the treadmill, or taking off down my neighborhood streets. Something changed in the last few months though, and I really like to run. Before, it was sort of a necessity. Now, I really like it. My favorite time to run is on the streets in the evening. The weather is cool and there is not as much traffic.

Running has become like that girl that you never appreciate until you get older, but then you can't let go. I never thought about running as a "relationship" until I saw those New Balance commercials on the web. My favorite is the one you see above, where the narrator describes what happens when you and running are about to break up (like your knees or shins hurt), or your relationship is just not as good as it was (like when you are hungover and can barely eek out 2 miles). But you and running will always be together, and there is nothing better than a "hot sweaty make-up run" to spice up the relationship.

percy-daggs-orbit.pngAlthough I was slightly late to the game, I became a huge fan of Veronica Mars. I hated that the show was taken away from us, but I always felt like I would get to see our favorites move on to bigger and better things. Kristen Bell is hot and talented, so you know she is going to be around, but what about the little people? Well, we don't have to worry about them either. I caught Percy Daggs, who played Veronica's sidekick Wallace, in a new role...

In this episode of our ongoing Respect the Booty series, I would like to bring you another Levi's commercial. This one is called Up/Down and it features a couple of girls trying on jeans; it's as American as apple pie. We respect the lowrise and Levi's continuing efforts to enhance our favorite body part.
When I was in college, I tried to explain to a friend of mine what I looked for when viewing a movie. My answer was "Fights, car chases, you know, pimpy gun shit." One of the most reliable directors for me has always been Guy Rithcie, well except for one movie in particular. Jason Statham has always been a fairly reliable actor, When I saw previews for The Bank Job, I naturally assumed that it was directed by Guy Ritchie. It's a story about bumbling criminals who try to commit a crime, but mess things up, realize they are in over their heads, and must do everything possible to avoid being killed by my organized criminals. That is the plot of almost every Guy Ritchie movie ever made!

I was going to boycott The Bank Job out of spite, but I noticed it was directed by Roger Donaldson, and I owe him a lot for introducing the world to Natasha Henstridge in Species. Guy Ritchie's does have a movie coming out this year, and although it doesn't have Jason Statham, he is sticking to the plot he knows best. In the meantime, enjoy this great short Guy Ritchie did for BMW. It stars Madonna, Clive Owen, and the E39 M5.

When it comes to women, I am an ass man. OK, that's a lie. I like all the rights curves, but especially the butt. I love the booty and really appreciate it's artistic value, which can always be greatly enhanced by a pair of jeans (in my opinion, whoever invented the low-rise is a saint). Here is one of my favorite commercials for the distinguished connoisseur. You know, I hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.
Kissing Suzy Kolber is a nice little sports blog. If you don't get what is funny about the name of the blog, don't worry. The blog is pretty good for anybody who like people with foul-mouthed sports-ish senses of humor. KSK is usually pretty funny, usually fairly original, and they hate Red Sox almost as much as I do. They posted this video of a hilarious (minus awful Indian stereotype) Marlboro commercial advertising the NFL in 1959, but make sure to check out this week's Mock Draft: Websites We'd Like to See Experience Permanent Tech Support Problems. I won't spoil the whole thing, but the first pick went to Perez Hilton. My vote? With a tactical 12-guage, if available.

I love this Diet Coke commercial. Our New York businesswoman, played by Demi Moore, is so tired from her day of work that she needs to eat, but doesn't want to ruin her chances of promotion in the old boys club law office she works in, so she grabs a Diet Coke from the fridge (last one!) which won't make her fat. She is all set to relax to some sexy music, but her cat Walter startles her, and her Diet Coke flies out the window and onto the ledge. Now, even though you think she could afford another can of Diet Coke what with her living in this huge apartment in New York, she braves the ledge. She grabs her Diet Coke, and is happy, but is startled by the ugly workout clothing her neighbors are wearing as she peers into her window. We think it's the end of our heroine, as she falls off the ledge of the building, but a very conveniently placed awning not only saves her, but places her adjacent to a handsome man, who is probably not only single, but will surely invite her in to listen to some Duran Duran and do lines off the coffee table.

Yay Diet Coke!
