If I Needed to Sell Somebody a Really Large Television

I love my big screen television. I love that I can afford to get every HD channel that folks at DirecTV can send me. I used to think that Rome was the show that did HD the most justice, but considering all of the sex and violence, it might not be the best way to demonstrate all of the wow factor of HD to some people. Planet Earth on the Discovery channel has now surpassed anything that has ever been on HD. It's not only beautiful to look at, but is wonderfully interesting. There is no way you can't be excited by this documentary. I just want to know the answer to one question. What happens to the baby polar bears?!?!

So the fact that I killed a TV three years ago with static electricity --(as I turned it on it blew)--- becasue I am a woman and could not find the remote.... AND the fact that the replacement TV now for a month has had only black and white for the SAME DAMN REASON..... gives me no hope that #1.... I should be allowed to have a new tv....and
#2....I should not even be allowed to WATCH TV (states my family.)---gives me no reason to even watch Planet Earth...
boo hoo

I think you must be my husband's long lost brother. He wouldn't come to bed last night until he finished watching that show AND he wouldn't let the kids come to diiner tonight until he showed the the dancing bird.

You tease. I only have an antenna, so I don't get the Discovery Channel, but I'm dying for it to hurry up and come out on DVD. The free preview DVD I got of it made it look pretty incredible - although Sigourney Weaver is pretty lame.

Did you watch the Blue Planet series? Planet Earth is kind of the sequel of sorts. Blue Planet was all about the oceans, and it was incredible. If you're only going to watch one episode of that one, watch the one about the scary shit that lives on the bottom of the ocean. You'll be far too scared to even go near the ocean ever again.

Planet Earth was *amazing*. The dancing bird was cool, but my favorite was the amorphous school of bait fish that seemed to act like its own collective organism. If I had been high, my brain would have exploded. Luckily, I'll have about 8 more chances to do just that (I think it's an eleven hour miniseries).

The underwater episode was tough for me - I felt like I was holding my breath for an hour.

Unfortunately I have a sweet plasma, but no discovery HD.

Anyway. Dancing bird kicked ass. That bird is gonna be so famous in the intraweb.
